Making a Beeline with Their
Aliner to the Great Outdoors

Our demands going into retirement: Find a reliable, four-cylinder with four-wheel drive rated at 34-35 mpg to pull our brand-new Aliner camper. We found just the ticket in a Subaru XV Crosstrek. Pulls like a dream and the four cylinders do just fine – the paddle shifters are an unexpected benefit on those steep hills.

Our last “peak experience” was in the Great Smoky Mountains while attending the Aliner’s North American Rally in Cherokee, North Carolina. Colleen and I were one of 150 Aliners and 275 people to attend. We had a wonderful time hiking and rafting the Class III (?) waters on the Nantahala River – not bad for 65 years old.

Great campers need great vehicles to pull them and we have found a perfect match to keep us active and going.
