I bought my Subaru, which I named Jessa, last summer and have taken her camping once (so far). Friends and I went on a trip that could’ve been miserable, but that turned out to be incredible. We went to Shenandoah National Park, one of my favorite spots in the greater Washington D.C. area. On the drive there, it poured rain, and once it let up, the road was fogged in. We initially freaked out, but then busted out our cameras.
By the time we got to the campsite, the rain and fog had dissipated. In the morning, we awoke to a beautiful day. I led the group on a hike to Little Devils Stairs trail, which, in retrospect, might not have been the best idea given the heavy rains and slippery rocks. But we enjoyed ourselves, and the many butterflies, before making it safely back to Jessa.
